dandelion (seed)
dandelion (seed)
I love dandelions. It took a long time for me as a kid to understand why adults thought dandelions were “bad”. I don’t think I ever truly did, just accepted that others thought they were. In the past few years though I’ve embraced them as I wish I could’ve as a child. When I see them, I appreciate them— bud, bloom, fluffy seeds and all.
Maybe it’s a more subtle reparenting thing too, but they’ve kind of become a symbol of things we subjectively label as undesirable, how important critical thought is when people in power try to to tell us xyz is “bad”, and a reminder to carry on with confidence even if those around you treat you like a weed.
